Civil Oases.— -Bray v. E. Gibbons : Claim, £1, for an amount promised as a subscription to some roadworks in the Mount Roskill District. — W. Bray deposed that he had guaranteed £15 to the Highway Board towards certain works, and Mr. Gibbons put his name to the subscription list for £1 — which plaintiff had paid over to the trustees. He produced their receipt for the money, and also the subscription list. Mr. Gibbons did not authorise him to pay the money for him. — The Courkdireoted fe nonsuifc on the ground that plaintiff had no authority to advance the money, for defendant. Fleming and Stevenson |v. Cleave : Claim, £4 18s 9d., f or goodp. Judgment by default, with coats.- — Hayr v. Carrie s Claim, £2 165., balance due on promissory note. Judgment by default, with costs.*
