CHANGES IN THE ASSEMBLY.
The following obanges in the constitution o£ the House of Representatives have resulted from resignation during the recess :—: — Resigned. Elected. Mangonui ... T. Ball T. B. Gillies. Parnell ... 0. Heaphy K. G. Wood. Omata ... C, Brown P. A. Carringlou, Bruce ... J. Oargill J. C. Brown. Oaveraham... A.J.Burns J. Mclndoe. saw a remark in one of the Southern papers of the intention of Mr. Hankinson (Biverton) to resign, but we are not aware that he has resigned. Dr. Grace, of Wellington City, and the Hon. Mr. Waterhouse, of that province, have been called to the Legislative Council. The Government has gained a vote at Mangonui, and also at Omata. It is doubtful whether or not the Government has lost a vote in the Bruce district ; Major Cargill was generally a supporter of the present Administration, but how Mr. J. 0. Brown may vote on colonial questions, it is impos* sible to say.
