By Thomas Bannatyne Gillies, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.TT7HERE AS by an Act made and passed by the 17 Superintendent of the Province of Aiickland, with the advice and consent of the Provincial Council thereof, intituled " The Auckland Municipal Police Act, I860," it was amongst other things enacted that the Superintendent may from time to time, by public notification in the Piovincial Government Gazette, appoint and define the limits of cities, town a, and other places within the Province of Auckland, for the purposes of the said Act. Now, therefore, I, Thomas Bannatyne Gillies, the Superintendent of the Province of Auckland aforesaid, pursuant to the authority in me vested in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that for the purposes of the said Act, the limits of the Paeawai DistrL-t, within which the said Act shall, from the dale hereof, come into forcf, shall comprise all those lands which are at present, or hereafter may be contained within the boundaries of the Parawai High>vay District. I N pusuanee of the powers in me vested by " The I Highways Act, 1867," I do hereby notify for general information, that I have altered and amended tho boundaries of the several Highway Distrists, as hereunder set forth. Bounded towards the North by the Northern Boundaries of the Parish of Kai'angahape, from the West Coast to the road, which forms the Northern boundary of Allotment 93, of tho Parish of Karangahape, thence by the centre of said road, and by the centre of another road, thence to the Southern boundary pf Allotment No. 10, of the Parish of Waikomiti ; towards the East by the Southern boundary of Allotment No. 10 aforesaid, and a Creek known as Parr's Creek to the Northern boundary of Allotment No. 68, thence by the Xorthern boundary of said Lot 68, part of the Eastern and the whole of the Southern and Western boundaries of Allotment No. 7(5, the Western boundary of Allotment No. 70, and part of the Eastern boundary of Allotment No. 38, all ot the Parish of Waikomiti, to Ihe Northern boundary qf Allotment No. 82 of said parish, thence by the Northern and Eastern boundary of said Lot S2, the .Northern boundary of Allotment No. 73, and the Northern and Western boundaries of Allotment No. 74, to Big Muddy Creek ; towards the South by Big Muddy Creek aforesaid to a line, being a production of the £outh-eas{ em boundaries of Allotments Noa. 79 and 78, of the Parish of Karangahape; thence by said line and the South-eastern boundaries of Allotment No. 79 aforesaid, and the South-eastern and South-western boundaries of allotment No. 78, aforesaid to the Southeastern boundary of a.Jotmenfc No. 76, thence by the South eastern boundary of last-named lot, and the South-eastern boundary of Allotment No. 75 to the North-eastern boundary of Allotment No. '72; thence by part of tho North-eastern boundary of said Lot 72, and the Is orth-eastern boundaries of Allotments JSos 71 and GB, and the N orth-eastern and Eastern boundaries of Allotment G7, and the Eastern and Northern boundai'ies of Allotment jS'o. 6G to the rod which forms the South-eastern boundary of Allotment No. 62, to the North-eastern boundary of Allotment No. G4<, thence by the Northeastern and South-eastern boundary of said Lot 64, and the South-eastern boimdaries of Allotments Nos. 60, 53, and 57 to the sea ; and towards the South- west by the sea aforesaid to the Northern boundaries of the Parish of Karangahape, the place of commencement.
