EXPORT OF GOLD.
The s.s. 'Hero,'which sailed yesterday for Sydney, iyas the bearer of 2 boxes gold, containing 1,9410z. lOdwt. 22gr., valued at £8,100. The gold was shipped by the Bank of New Zealand.
The movement for the establishment of a Bushman's Home in Adelaide has been bo successful as to enable the committee to take the necessary premises, and arrangements for opening the home will shortly be made. There are spacious grounds connected with ; the premised, and they are spoken of aa likely ! to fulfil all the expectations that the benevolent promoters o£ the institution entertained. At long as the ground is moist, sow a few mangolds. Thisis the advice audthe practice of a very canny farmer, and experience has shown it to be sound. Fodder means manure, and manure means plenty of grain, hay, and roots in after years. The more produce this year the more next is in fact the 1 rule and principle, but only provided the produce is consumed npon the farm, not aold^QfiE it.
