CORRESPONDENCE.
To ths Bditov of tht Daily Sooihebk Oboh. BIR,--Pewelvintfln your report of the pro' ceedingi of the City Board that the Chair* man said, with reference to a letter from me complaining of a nuisance at the front of the Eagle Inn, Albert and Durham-streets, need be taken no notice of, as it had been attended to, I beg leave to inform the public that, so far from the nuisance having oeen attended to, I have written no leas than three letters on the subject, and the nuisance ia now worse than ever. When I first pointed out the spot, to the Inspector, he agreed with me that it was a fearful nuisance, and told me to write to the Board, and I believe my letter was referred to the Streets Committee. It is true some street sweepers were sent,
Who scraped out the abominable filth, only housing the [stench, and making a deepei receptacle for the feculent matter to accumulate ; and it is now so bad that a leading surgeon of this town, who has patients in this quarter, expressed to me his greatest apprehension of typhus fever. So much foi the Board's attention to the public health. As this is a matter which concerns the citizens generally, I trust you will insert this, hoping it will stir the Streets Committee up instead of the nuisance. — I am, &c, Laurence Robertson.
