AUCKLAND REGATTA.
A MEFTINO of the committee of the Auckland Regatta was held at the Club- room, Thames Hotel, last evening, Mr Gr. Von der Royde in the chair. The meeting was for the purpose of handing over to the fortunate winners the vaiious prizes. After that pleasant business was concluded, it waa resolved by the committee that Captain Williams and Mr. Niccol measure the 'Swift,' 'Edith,' and 'Africa,' for the purpose of deciding who is entitled to the prize in the 4th race. The following protests were received : — In the 7th race, against ike 'Snowflake,' on the ground that she was not a cargo-boat. The umpire decided in favour of the protest, and the 2nd pmc was given to the ' Tay.' The ' Annie' having failed to go round the buoy, the 3rd piize was awarded to the 'Watchman.' In the 11th race, it was decided that the 1st pu/.o in the ships' gigs' race should be given to the 'Star of the South. 1 It was also proposed that all entrance money for those races not run be returned.
