Charles Oowper. It appeared Mr. Cowper faulted the shearers for the slovenly manner in which they did their work, "whereupon Mr. McGuines«i said one master was enough in the shed, ami tendered his resignation, which Mr. Cowper would not accept. The shearers and station hands then struck, and demanded a settlement, which wa« refusal. Mr. Cowper was rather roughly handled, placed forcibly into a chair, and told there to draw cheques, in caie of refusal corporeal punishment. After a good deal of barney, things were adjusted, Mr. MoGuineas resuming his duty, and the shearer* going to work at 15i. a hundred. Mr. Cowper slipped to Bourke, and is now afely domiciled at our host Kelly's, where he can reflect at leisure on the roughness of buthmen and the uncomfortftbleness of a squeeze of the wool* mm. 1 ;
