GOLDEN CROWN.

Thk whole amount of melted gold received from the 50 torn crushed for the above claim,, at Brown and Campbells battey, Tsraru, wan 523 ounces, that is, nearly 104 ounces to the ton. The cleaning up, on Saturday, of the company's battery gave 300 ounces.

In the Beach Claim work is being carried on vigorously in the low»level drive. In the Mariner's Reef Goldmining Company's ground, a shaft is st present sinking to cttt the leacUr from which stone is being crushed at Goodall's .battery, and which is promising to give a very handtome return. The low-level drive in now in 325 feet— up to the boundary of the adjoining claim, the Sailor Prince, and a T drive. This T 1 drive was carried on and cat the main reef, the ' same found in the Beach Claim, from which the stone w»i taken at present crushing at the Prince Alfred battery, »nd which is looking remarkably well on the plates, there being already 580 ounces of amalgam taken off them. The Flying Cloud Claim is again crushing 20 tons of stone at Seuter s battery. A good deal of speoimens have been taken from the stuff. Some splendid specimens were taken out oi the Long Drive on Saturday. From the amount of specimens on hand it is intmded to j have a crushing in a few days. Some of the piece* of stone we saw, although several pounds weight, seemed to as to contain more of the precious met)l than stone. ,The Golden B-r Gojdmining Company are at present taking out some very good stone from the different leaders in the claim. The shareholder* of the Pacitio Claim, Collarbon , have tmrrowe4 into the spur to the length of 250 feet. A small but promising leader is in hand. , The stuff shown gold, and also gives good dish prospect?, and its value is estimated at two ounces to the ton.' The Bank of New Zoaland Claim : 200 tons of stuff are in padlock at the mouth of the tunnel. Arrangements are being made to pass it through Boucher's machine.
