ERRORS IN ADMIRALTY CHARTS.THE HAURAKI GULF.
In the House of Bepreseutatir** on June 24, Mr. Oreiabton asked the Postmaster-General, whether auy serious mistakes ia the Admiralty charts of the fiauraki Gulf and other parts of the coast line of tho province of Auckland have been recently discovered and reported to the Government ; and if so, whether, having regard to the increasing trade in that part of the colony, the Government proposes' to hare the coasb line ia question re«ur?ejed and ihe obarts corrected without delay. —The Colonial Seoretary r«. plied thafc the Government recognised the propriety of the survey being made, as errors in the chart* had been ducovered, and they intended to propose a rote for the survey. With respect to the harbour of Manukau, the expeose of remedying any defects in itssnr«r*y was a provincial oharge.-— Mr. Creighton 8»id what he wiohed to know with regard to th« harbour of Maoukau was if the Government would immediately place the services of the Marine Surveyor at the diapoi*l of th« Provincial Government. — The Colonial Seoretary said the Government would hi very happy to do It*
