MADAME ANNA BISHOP'S CONCERTS
The last but one of Madame Anna Bishop's popular concerts was given last evening in the new Music Hall, Symonda-street." Notwithstanding the counter attractions elsewhere, there was a moderately numerous attendance, and the programme of the evening com prised some of the most favourite songs and ballads of the day. The rendering of the popular ballad by Madame Auna B shop of Little Mary's song, '' Come Home, Father," was very touching, and elicited an encore, which was gracefully ref sponded • to by the fair can tat rice singing the well - known ballad of '* Home, Sweet Home," as only we believe that lady can sing ifc. i The cavatina, " O Luce Di Quest' Anima,' 4 from the opera of "Linda di Chamouni," was rendered witli much spirit, and was loudly and deservedly applauded, as was likewise the French song, "Je Suis la Bayadere.' Madame Anna Bishop and Mr. Charles Lascelles went "through two duets together ia a manner that took the audience by storm, and elicited a perfect furor of applause. Mr. Lascelles saug several songs with much spirit, and whether in tenor or bass he appeared t» be perfectly at home. He likewise executed some very brilliant pieces of music on the pianoforte, of which he appears to he a thorough master in every respect. 'The whole performance was one of the most delightful we have listened to for some time past, and our only tegret is that Madame Anna Bishop is so soon to leave vi. Madame Auna Bishop will give her last concert in this city this evening, and on such an occasion there will, no doubt, be a very large attendance. The performance will be under the distinguished patronage of the Eight Hon. the Earl of Pembroke, Lieutenant-Colonel Elliot, and the officers of the 18th Royal Irish. j
