WAYTE'S AUCKLAND ALMANAC, 1869.

WjE have received a copy of this publication, which iB the result of Mr. Wayte's first essay in this direction. The matter baa been judiciously collected and arranged, and the typographical part of the work has been very neatly executed. The great recommendation which Mr. Wayte's almanac pov■esses is its cheapness, the price beinsf only one shilling per copy, bat there are many other points in which this almanac, is likely to prove of much practical utility, more especially to the miner. Taking the main head* of the almanac's contents seriatim, ire find, after the usual calendar, sailing directions for the North Island of New Zealand, with special regulations for the port of Auckland, rents, dues, and charges for the port of Auckland, watermen's fares, departmental and official directory, Customs tariff, Court fees, army list, commercial and religious institution!, societies, Thames goldfield directory, and hints to miners, &c, &c. About one-third of the book is deroted to advertisements. As a first attempt the almanac is very creditable, and for those who prefer a cheap almanac to a more expensive and comprohensire one it will be found highly acceptable.
