PRESENTATION OF GOOD CONDUCT MEDALS.
▲ mx, interesting ceremony took place yesterday morning within the Albert Barracks, whoa three medals, were awarded-to the undermentioned for long Mrrice and general good conduct :— Gunner James linn and Bombardier OBrien, of the Artillery; and SargeanfcjChandler, Musketry Instructor of the 18th' Boyal Irish, formerly of the 78th Regiment. The medal* were accompanied in each case by a gratuity o! £5, "which mmi, howerer, the men will not reoeiTe until they, obtain their ■■ discharge!, .when the gratuities will be handed or*r to them, with interest, •ft the -rate of 24 ' per cent., to date, from the time of the award.. The troops ware drawn up im the basraoks at halkpast ten o'clock, »»d, after < the band had discounted sereral martial am, the three men mentioned above w«re oalled to the front.
