PROSPECTUS OP THE SIUTISH EMPIRE GOLD-MINING COMPANY ( REGISTER ED). ' Capital £7,020, in 702 Shwes of £10 each. PROVISIONAL DIRECTORS: A. Beetham, fa&q. (firm of Beetham and Walker). Captain Butt, W. J. Hurst, Esq., M.P.C. O. T. H. Lloyd, .Esq., Shortland. J. Paton, Esq., Upsotn. C. Shipherd, Ksq. , Mangere. J. B. Ksrstprman, Esq , dhortland. BANKERS : Bank of Australasia. SOLIC ITR: F. M. P. Brookfield. MANAGER PtfO TEM. : N. W. Mat-sey. THE ground of the Company ia situated on a branch of the Tararu Creek, Thames goldfielrU, aij|l .consists of nearly seven acres of land. Tje claim was taken up in the month of April last, and is now under protection for the purpose of forming a Company, and thereby obtaining the necessary capital to erect machinery. A large quantity of quartz has been taken out of four auriferous leaders, varying from one to three feet iv thickness. The situation of the Company's ground, surrounded as it is by some of the richest claims on this field, will vouch for the bon& fide nature of the investment now offered to the public. The Company propose to erect a 20-Btamper battery, driven by steam-powor, to which will be added all the newe-t appliances that modern science has invented for the saving of gold from quartz, A site for the machine, unequalled on the field, has already been selected, requiring uo excavation, and but comparatively little expense for its erection. Timber of the best quality grows upon the ground, and will be available for building aud other purposes. The Company propose to keep 10 of the 20 stampers for crushing the quartz of their own claim, and with the remaining 10 stampers will be in a position to cruf.li for the surrounding claims, which alone will s return to the shareholders a dividend of over £3,000 a year, thereby paying all the working expenses, and leaving as a clear profit all the returns from the quartz that the remaining stampers will crush. It is calculated that the 10 head of stampers the Company will keep for their owu use will cm»h 80 tons of quartz p^r week, which, ab the rate of 2 >z. to the ton, will return £400 a-week or £20,000 per annum, estimating the gold at only £2 I(|*. per ounce. All the quartz already tested has averaged 6oz. to the ton, so it will be observed that the above calculation is put at the lowest. i ; Three hundred and fifty-one shares are retained by the original proprietors as paid up capital, and the remaining three hundred and' filty-one are now offered to the public at par, one pound per share to be paid on application and two pounds on a'lotaient. When further calls (of "ten shillings per share) are wade, fourteen days' ' notice will be given. The deposits paid on any share not allotted will be returned without any deduction Printed forms of application can be had at the office of the Agents of the Company, Mkssbs.
