' | Sir, — In reference to aa article in to-day's Southern' Cross quoted from the New Zealand Advertiser, I beg to 'state ihat'T never had' any "{conversation with Mr. Campbell- in reference to jmy public ! meeting for the purpose of denouncing, Mr. Kerr, j and that I never had anything to 'do with the 1 . matter in any way whatever.
