ST. JAMES'S BAZAAR.

The bazaar in aid of the funds for the reduction of the debt on St. James's Cburch (Presbyterian) will be opened to-day, in Hobsoa's Buildings. The stalls are four in number, two on either side, on the right being presided over by the Rev. Mr. Hill and Mrs. T. Short. The next stall on the Bame aide will be presided over by Mrs. Stevenson and Miss Clarke. On the left-hand side, near the door, is the •tall of Mrs. Alexander, and further on that of Mesdames Stewart, Rattray, and Gorrie. The stalls and interior divisions are draped with crimson glaze, and the ceiling and walla are tastefully oraamentedy ith evergreens and flowers. At the righthand side near the door there is a post-office, at which the visitor, by payment of a small sum, can receive an epistle indited by the fair hand of an incognita. At the further end of the room there is » smalt compartment, in which a zoetrope will be exhibited, * small fee being charged for admission. The total value of the articles is estimated at about £700. We have been favoured with a look at so no of the principal exhibits, amongst which w<* may mention a beautiful devotional chair, the woodwork of which has been made by Mr. Haliday, of Shortland-street, while the beadwork of which the cushioning is composed was manufactured at home. The chair has been designed by Miss Kattray, to whose taste and skill in ouch work it does infinite credit. There are also a large number of very delicately-made leather fruit baskets, kettle stands, pin cushions, antimacassars, Guernsey seaweed tastefully arranged in frames, and a very large quantity of Berlin wool and needlework. A large proportion of the exhibits consists of articles of English manufacture, other than ladies' work. Xt night the building will be brilliantly lighted up by means of two handiome •un-lighti.
