TURANGA HIGHWAY BOARD.
Thz adjourned meeting of the ratepayers of the above district wu held at the school-house, Turanga, at noon, on the 12th instant. Mr. W. Trice occupied the chair. The Secretary read an abstract of the receipts and expenditure for last year. Meisrs. W. H. Turner and J. Craick were appointed auditors. After much discussion, a rate of 2d. per acre was proposed and carried. A letter from Mr. Box, teacher of the school, was then read, applying for aid from the Board to enable him to continue to carry on the school ; and a rate of one halfpenny per acre was proposed and carried. The following trustees were then elected for the ensuing yeai ;— Mesws. Alexander Kennedy, William Trice, George Trice, Isaac Wade, and John Mackey. . - A vote of thanks to the Chairman concluded the business, A meeting of the trustees was then held. Mr. Alexander Kennedy was appointed chairman, and Mr. J. Box re-appointed secretary.
