GOLDEN CROWN CLAIM.

The shareholders in this now celebrated Claim had a meeting at Shortland on Saturday to divide the proceeds of their late crushing of 97 tons of stuff, a large proportion of which was No. 2 quality, and the result was 2,524 ounces of gold. £40 was voted to the funds of the Diggers' Hospital ; £10 to H. Rawdon, who had Wo horses killed by falling over the bank near Hunt's claim a few days ago ; and £800 per share was paid to the lucky shareholders, leaving a balance in the bank to meet expenses. The shareholders will commence crushing again on Monday next, and the result is expected to exceed even this last one. The Advertiser of Saturday last has the following :— " We understand that some alleged surplus ground has been applied for between the Caledonian and celebrated Grolden "Crown Claims. This ground is claimed by the shareholders in the former claim, who assert that they have amalgamated it in conformity with the regulations of the field. This will doubtless be a case to be submitted to legal determination, as the Golden Crown's reef is known to run through the disputed ground— a reef hardly second in importance to Hunt's —which is not likely to be givea up without a very severe struggle."
