POLICE COURT.— Friday. [Before T. Beckham, Esq., R.M.]
Dbttnkenness — James Merida was charged with being <lrunk, and was punished ia the usual way. Bobbery in A. Brothel. — Eliza Cain, Bridg t Sellars, and Hannah Connelly were charged with stealing from the person of John Smith, in a house in Abercrombie-sfcreet, five £5 notes, three £1 notes, and about ]Bs. in silver; £28 18s. in all.— Mr. Naughton said that, although fcheie was very little doubt that the robbery had been committed, he was afraid he should not be able to sustain the charge. The womtin were only given into custody late last night, and he should therefore ask for a remand ; but he was not at all sure that he would have a case against them, even after the remand. The fact was, the prosecutor had gone home with them, shown them his money, and eent out for drink for th^m ■everal times, till, no doubt, the women thought they hid its much right to the money as he had himself. Two of them lived at the house in question, and one of them was staying there. Jhe prosecutor himself did not seem to be able to give » very ol*ar account of what had taken place. — .Remanded till Monday. This concluded the business, and the Court adjourned.
