At ft meeting of this Society, held at the Criterion ' -Hotel cool Tuesday last, the under-mentioned resolulutions were pasted uuanimonsly. Mr. F. C. Lewis occupied the chair. There was a large attendance, 'and alto, several visitors,, who were evidently attracted, iby, the importance of the subject that was to be discnssed. i" Proposed 'by Mr. J. Badlet, "That the Society desires to have the public support in the prevention of the landing of cattle from the Australian colonies or elsewhere where the disease known as pleuro-pneumonia is known to exist ; and that a public meeting be called, to be held on Thursday, the 15th inst., at the Kemuera Sale Yards, at 11.30 a.m." — Carried. Proposed by Mr. It. D. Badlky, seconded by Mr. J. Shiphbbd, "That Messrs. J. C. Lewis, James WalUce,James Runcimaß, John Wallace (No. 2), J. Shipherd, W. J. Bassett, J.
