Pbovinciajl Government Gazette, was published yesterday, ,The Auckland Municipal Police Acb, 1866, is brought iuto operation within the' totyns i of Otahuhu, Panmure, and Llowiok, and the Highway Trustees in these places are appointed the local authorities under the Act. It is notified that, in > conformity with the 29th section of the Goldfields Act, it is intended to ,grant leases for ...gold-mining purposes oE Crown lands to certain persons, unless valid objections can be shown againsjt granting Biich leases. Objections to granting such leases, stating the grounds of objection,, must bn-made in -writing, and lodged with, the Wardens at Shortland, within 14 days from the o publication of this notification in the Auckland Provincial Government ' Gazette, and one of the loc»l newspapers. Copies of the applications made, and plans annexed, may be seen -au the Wardens' Uffice, Shortland. The persons named to whom leases are to be granted are— Francis Cadell, Tapu ; William Rowe, Belmont Claim, Moanataian ; Kuranui Gold-mining iGompaoy (regL3tered), JSiHra- (- nui; J, E. Macdonald, Karaka.
