4.RFIVAL OF THE STAR OP THE SOUTH FROM N^KER. The s.s. Star of the .South, Captain Bendall, arrived from Napier vifl, the Tamaki yesterday. She left Napier on Thursday, the Bfch iust., at midught. Had strong N.W. wiuds to the East Cape, vrbicb was rounded at 10 p.m. on the 9th ; on rounding the Cape had strong westerly gales with heavy seas. At lpm. on Saturday took shelter under (Jreti Point, owing to a W.S.W. gale, which continued until Sunday afternoon, wbeu it moderated a little. Proceeded on the Voyage at 4 a.m. Shortly aft«r leav- ,

ing, the wind came on again, and blew very hard from the west, and continued until ai rival in port. Arrived at the Tamakiat7.3o yesterday morning, and delivered her cargo of sheep in good order, notwithstanding the rough passage. Sighted the schooner Murewai 15 miles west of Cape Runaway, on Sunday morning, running before the wind to the eastward. Pacsenet-rs — Maloon : Mr. Roundfcree, and Mr. Moncrieff ; and 4 in the steerage. Cargo : 12,000 sheer, Buckland. We are indebted to Captain Bemlall for files of Napier papers.

THE BARQCJE P.C.E. The barque P.C.E. , 291 tons, Captain Chad wick, arrived yesterday afternoon from Newcastle. She left there on the 2nd, and had favourable winds until sighting the Three Kings on Sunday last at 8 a.m. Had westerly winds along the coast.
