MISCELLANEOUS.

The steamer Tauranga arrived from the Thames yesterday. We are indebted to the courtesy of Captain Sellars for the receipt of our parcels of the Thames Advertiser. The departure of the steamer Rangalira for Southern ports has been postponed until to-day. The Lord Ashley leaves on Monday. Some auxiety exists owing to the non-arrival, to which we referred yesterday, of the cutter Bittern from Norfolk Island. Captain Loverock, of the ketoh Eagle, whioh arrived from It or o tonga yesterday* informs us that the Bittern lef b for New Caledonia, and that he cannot aocouot for her delay in returning to Auckland. Captain Robert Burr left here in oharge of the vessel. We hops that tidings may shortly be received aa to her whereabouts. Her agents, Messrs. Roberton and Co., are unable to account for her absence from this port for so long a period, now some fourteen weeks. Captain Loverock's opinion adds another to the many that we have been favoured with by arrivals from the South Sea Islands, contradictory of the reported murder of Captain Hajes by his mate. Owing to the roughness of the weather yesterday the Racehorse coald uot be haule 1 alongside. She will, to-dny, however, should it moderate. The barque Constance, from iSngland, may be looked for during the ensuing week. The strong westerly winds which hare prevailed during the past three weeks will no doubt hasten the period of her passage.
