HASTINGS.— ANOTHER BUSH. (FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT. ) June 9.

Messrs. Qatan and Oashell bave succeeded in uncovering another lender of extraordinary richness. The quartz is thickly studded with large lumps of pare bright gold, far surpassing in richnew anything ■which has yet been found here. The toj» of this leader waß found about a week since, but it was only on Saturday last that the prolific nature of it was surmised, and its richness appears to be increasing with eaoh succeeding foot in depth. Its position is parallel to the former' leader, about ' 4 feet to the west, and itß dip is nearly perpendicular. The leadtr is encased in the bard blue primary rock, in which also the gold can be plainly seen. It is -perfectly astonishing how the gold appears to be outcropping on this claim,' as the claims on either side, in the direction of the reef, bare not succeeded in striking it. It is perfectly plain now that there must be a very large numberWleadersintllis field— toe moat probable solution of which is that they exist as a broad belt of parallels, ■ all of which, from MoTsamc's to the Fitzroy, run at a mean 'bearing of about 10 degrees west 'of north; each -separate leader in this belt being richer in some places than others. The width of this belt, from the Diggers' Rest on -the ,west to the Full Moon on the easts, is about half a mile, and the principal part of the rich claims art ■battered diagonally across it. Messrs. Quinn and 'Cathell intend to ' stop the berdan, and send about half a ton of their staff to Shortland, and I have no dmbt the yield will be something astonishing. The Hit or Miv have not as yet succeeded in striking their neighbour's leader. Its perpendicular direction is somewhat against them, and they may have to go to a much greater depth to reach it ; but the greater tbe depth at which they cut it the more they will hate of it. The rock in which they are no»r sinking is of a very dense nature, and has to be worked almost entirely with gads. There baa been a rush this week- to a creek which em^oucbes on tbe beach about three miles from here towards Shorbland, to a place about a mile up it. There has been nothing found there worth mentioning, >but some goodlooking leaders and a prospect. ■ It is jin a good pdaition, being in a line with the rioh' claims here,' 'and the Panama Route, to which it is nearest. I am of opinion, that it will turn out well.
