Thomas Wingate and Co. have launched from their, 'building yard at Whiteincb, in the Clyde, • spar-decked screw steamer, named the Rob Hoy, of 340 tons, builders 1 measurement; length, 145 feet; breadth, 22 feet; depth, 16 feet'; fitted with inverted direot-acting engines of 50-horse power ; built under special surveys and classed 'A' B1B 1 at Lloyd's. She is fitted with steam winches, patent windlass, and all tho latest improvements. The vessel was launched with steam up, and immediately proceeded down the river on her trial trip, and attained a speed of 114 knots per hour. The Rob Roy has been built to the order of Messrs. Robinson and Lily, for the Australian ooasttDg trade.
