WEEKLY SUMMARY. We have nothing of moment to report; in shipping business this week. We have had one foreign and three inter-prorincial arrivals, and four foreign de- , partureß. on' the 28th the brig Waverley arrived j from Hong Kong and Batavia, with a large and valueable cargo of teas, sugars, spices, &c, on owners' account. On the 29th the schooner Mariner arrived with flour and oats from Dunedin. On the 3rd f;he ■chooner Lady Don arrived from Lyttelton with a cargo of wheat and flour, and on the sth the schooner Onehuga from Dunedin with a similar cargo, 'the P., N.Z., and A. KM. Co.'s s.s. Lord Ashley arrived for the South on the 4th inst., with passengers and cargo. On the 29th' the Colombian barque Domioga sailed for San Francisco vift, Tahiti, with a general cargo, and 30 passengers. On the 2od inst the ss. Claud Hamilton left for Sydney, with {he Suez mail, a general cargo, and 19 passengers. On the 3rd the Circular Saw barque Alice Cameron left for San Francisco, with a cargo of Newcastle and a sample shipment of Bay of Wands coals. The schooner Pacific sailed the same day for Norfolk Island with stores. The s.s.Taranfcki, with the Panama mail, arrived on the Ist instant, having been detained awaiting' the arrival of the Rakaia at Wellington. ! A handsome yacht was launched at Messrs. Niccol and Son's yard, North Shore, on the 29th, to the order of Mr. Thomas Fitzgerald. She is schooner, rigged, of 22 tons register, and 47 feet keel. She is fitted with a large saloon and | after oabin and is intended for private use.fc #*tSOS Messrs. Niccol and Son have on tue stouKS a new ferry steamer, intended to ply between Auckland and the North Shore. It is 80 feet keel, the latter being composed of one timber, an excellent specimen of the trers which abound in our bush so suitable for ship-building purposes. The steamer will be propelled by paddle-wheels and be about 50 tons (b.m.), fitted with two 10- horse pewer low-pressure engines. She is to be turned off the stocks next month.
The barque P.C.E., Captain Brown, willf »il f or Newcastle, N.8.W., on Tuesday next. The barque Harriet Arnait»ge, Captain McMaster, will sail this morning for Newcastle, N.S.W., ia ballast. Passengers : Mrs. Doran and two children, and Mr. Tiddich. Thb Schooner Sba. Beeize. — The schooner Sea Breeze, Captain Norris, arrived yesterday afternoon from Russell, Bay of Islands, with a cargo of sheep, &c. She reports having left the Bay on Wednesday evening, and arrived at Kohimarama at noon yesterday, coming up barbour after discharging 104 sheep at that place. She also brought 2 tons kauri gum, 2 cases fruit, casks pork, 15 hides, &c. Passengers • Messrs. Oswald and T. Edmonds, Mr. and Mrs. Coney, three children, servant, and five other pas* gengers. She reports the schooner Joanna leaving the Bay for Auckland on the evening before ■he sailed. The schooner Tauranga arrived at the Bay on Wednesday afternoon, and the schooner Herald was passed off the Cape bound in on Wednenday evening. The 8.8. Tauranga, Captnin Sellarsjeft the Queenstreet Wharf at 10.30 a.m. yesterday, with 60 passengers for the Thames, and arrived there at 3.30, leaving again at 4.30 with 45 passengers, arriving at the wharf again at 9 30. I The Whamship Jambs Arnold. — The Sea Breeze, which arrived yesterday from Russell, Bay of Islands, reports the ship James Arnold, of New Bedford, putting into that port for stores. She is 22 months out, and has been tolerably successful, having taken 1 800 barrels of oil. She would remain at the Bay some days before continuing her cruise. The cutter Don, McGurney, master, arrived early yesterday from Whangapoua mills, and the cutter Morning Light from Mercury Bay mills, with 35,000 feet of sawn timber. The Don reports the Waterlily loading at Whangapoua for Auckland, and passed the Rose, bound to the same place, off Kennedy's Bay. . The cutter Victoria arrived yesterday morning from Mercury Bay, in ballast, with 9 passengers, and reports having passed a barque cruising outside the heads on the previous night. The little schooner-rigged vessel, called the Gleaner, respecting the safety of which fears were entertained before she turned up at the Thames, arrived from that plaoeyesterday morning, and in the •vening sailed, for WfeMMMkoi
