ARMY MEDICAL REGULATIONS.
To tb« Editor of tht Daily Soutwwk Ckoh. Sib, — I desire through the medium of your journal most respectfully to aasare Lieut 'Colonel Elliot that, in my communication addreued to him on the pro* vision made by the Government for attendance upon the soldiers' wives of the Auckland Garrison, I did not in any way desire to implicate him personally in tbe matter (his acknowledged humanity and attention to th» wants of the regiment committed to hU oat* would forbid it), bnt de-ire to apply my animadversion solely to the military regulation, which it is obvious is a stain upon onr national humanity, and, unfortu* nately, has effect wherever the British army is stationed. I beg Liiut. 'Colonel Elliot to scoipt my apology in the matter if my letters can bear any such construction. — I am, 4c, S. J. SiJUTJOBD. March 5, 1868.
