NATIVE INTELLIGENCE. [From November 3 to November 12.]
A COBBESPONDINT, writing from Alexandra, on the 81st October, says: — " .Everything here is quiet. No natives from the Upper Waipa Kingites visit here." We are informed that the survey of Katikati is proceeding very satisfactorily. The party receive almost daily visits from Tup»ri, with whom a very friendly understanding exists. Many of the Hauhaus also pay the camp frequent visits, and exchange civilities with the occupants, receiving small presents of tobacco, <£c., and expressing themselvea satisfied that the survey should go on. Interviews have also been held with Paratene, who is by no means disposed to offer any obstruction, but on the contrary promises to furnish titnelj information of any contemplated interruption. By the schooner 'Sea Breeze,' we have news from the Bay of Islands up till November the 7th. It was stated at Busseli, previous to the schooner's sailing, that there had been a quarrel amongst some natives at Kaikohe, and that one had been shot through the body, and had died. The particulars of the affair have not reached us.
