There haw been no material alteration in the value* of grazing stock during the pint week, but the tendency continues to lower rates, and large numbers of cattle are brought forward at each succeeding i ale. - Prime qualities of fat cattle have fallen 2s 6d, «nd middling qualities fully ss. the 1001b..
Unshorn loDg-woolted ewes and lambs brought 30s and 31a the couule ; hoggets in their wool, 22s 6<d aad 24s each ; f*t sheep are easier in price about J.s per head, but fat lambi were not offered io plent ifnlly, and were better worth 2s to 4s per head,, bringing from 12a to 19s each. At the wool sale, held yesterday, there was a full attendance of buyers, bixty-«x bales and thirteen bags were offered*; of which number, twelve were withdrawn. Looks and pieces brought from 2£d to 7d per lb.; skin wool, 10<i ; dirty merino wool from the coast brought from 6}d to 7|d ; half-bred and long wool (unwashed), from 9d to ll£d ; washed Wools, from 12£ d to 14Jd, the greater part bringing fiom 14d to I4sd per lb. The whole of the above lots were in small parcels — not more than thre« bales. For a lot of nine bales Is 3d was offered, and the wool waa withdrawn. One lot of flax, about* one ton, brought £20, and if more [in quantity had been offered there would have been a better sake for it. MISSBS. W. HUNTER AND OO.'S WMXLY BMORT. We have to report that on Saturday last horses were plentiful, and sold at low prices ; a few good hacks realised from £7 to £8 10s. There were no good draught horses in the market. On Monday, at Newmarket, there was a fair show of cattle, chiefly store sfock. Dat-y cows weie plentiful, and sold from £9 10s to £11 10s ; backward springers, from £7 103 to £8 10s ; three-.vear-•teers, £7 5s to £8 10s; two-year-old steers, £4256 d to £5 10s; yearlings, £2 10s to £3 10s. Fat Cattle: There was rather a short market, but those in were of good quality and sold readily, at about 40s per 1001b. Sheep Market : There was a fair number of sheep penned, of good quality, and all sold. Half-breds from £1 3» to £1 12s 6d. Some fat half-bred ewes sold from £1 4s 6i to £1 11s 6d. Lambs sold from 6s 6d to 14s 6d. Merinoes from 18s 6d to 20s. Pigs were plentiful, and all in sold. Otahuhu Sale: There was a large number of store etock in two-year-old steers, which realised from £4 10s to £5. A pair of working bullocks sold for £8 sa. Some yearling heifers realised £3 16s. Some store cows sold from £5 to £7. Papakura Sale: Ihere was a large number of store cattle. Dairy cows sold low, from £7 to £9 ; yearling heifers, £3 to £3 10s ; yearling steers, £2 5s to £3; two-year-old steers, £4 to £5 15s; three-year-old steers, £6 15s to £7 10s. A good number of horses sold at low rates.
