CATHOLIC SCHOOLS.
To the Editor of the Dailt Sottthisjin Cboss. Dbab Sib,— ln your issue of the 21sfc instant, there appears a letter on the "Management of Roman Catholic Schools," from your able correspondent, " Catholic Orphan." He seems to know so much of Catholic affairs that one would almost think he was inspired ; however, in this case, I think he has overshot the mark. He states that, by referring to the police, an account will be furnished of the direful circumstances of some boys who (he alleges) were sent from St. Mary's College. Now, if he wishes the public to have any confidence m him for the future, he will prove this assertion. Now, sir, I happen to know every boy who has been sent from that institution, and am able to state that they have been invariably placed in comfortable and respectable situations. Further, 1 most distinctly assert that not even one boy out of the number referred to has ever come before the police in any way. Now, sir, I hereby challenge "Catholic Orphan" to prove his malicious statements.— I am, &c, _ A Noeth Shoee Settles.
