RELIGIOUS MEMORANDA. [From October 2 TO October 12 ]
The anniversary of the Waiuku Wesleyan Church is fixed to take place on the 14th and 16th insfc. The anniversary services in connection with the Pitt-street Wesleyan Church were held on October 6, 7he Rev. J. Berry preached in the morning, selecting for his text Psalm Ivii., 7-10; and in the evening from Galakians vi , 7: "Be not deceived: God is not mocked, for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." The Rev. J. Buller conducted divine service also in the afternoon, and gave an excellent discourse from Psalm lxxxvii., 5 : " And of Zion it shall be said, This and that man was born in her : and the Highest Himself shall establish her." Collections on behalf of the trust fund were made at the close of each service, which amounted to £32 3=). 4d. The public soiree was held on October 8, and proved eminently successful. A statement of the financial condition of the church was laid before those present. Several clergymen of different denominations addressed the meeting.
