Page, barque, for W*llaroo ; September 7, Indus, barque, Hodge, for Lyttelton ; September 10, Pawn, brig, for Lyttelton; September 12, Briton, barque, for Lyttelton ; September 14, Summer Cloud, barque, for New Caledonia. The shipment of coal this week is slightly abore Ithe average^ one company only is under the mark, Itheir pits doing half- work. Af, however, we have in itne harbour several ships of large tonnage, it is to be hoped there will be no falling-off in the general average. The quantity shipped has been 15,162 (tons — of which 3s, 69$ .tons were for Sydney, 1,531 if or Melbourne, 2,141 for Wallaroo, 2,521 for New 'Zealand, 1,559 for Batavia, 1,351 for Shanghai, ■987 for China, 595 for Point, de Galle, and 784 for {Steamers and home consumption. The New Zealand colonies have regular employment for any vessels going there, and wherever we turn our eyes .there ia the »arne demand for tonnage.
