OUR LOCUSTS.

To the Editor of th« Daxlt Southirn Cbosi. Sib, — Could any of your correspondents inform me if it is the rule or custom for a solicitor to charge £2 2i., fee for a summons in the Eesi - dent Magistrate's Court (over and above the Court fees), providing the case is settled out of Court ? Finding myself unexpectedly liable through the failure of another person, the first intimation I' had was a summons with these costs added (since swelled to over £4), although settled out of Court. It is quite time public attention was aroused to these matters. They are a scandal to any community. Pawnbrokers' charges are moderate compared too our lawyers' bills. — I hare, &c, S. C. P.
