THE HEVERSHAM.— COMPLIMENTARY. On the arrival at Adelaide of the Circular Saw barque Beveraham, Captain J. Byron Sherlock, with the head-quarters of H.M. 50th Regiment, after a tedious passage from Taranaki, the following complimentary address was presented by the officers to to Captain Sherlock :—: — "Lieutenant-Colonel Hamley, and the officers of the detachment 50th ' Queen's Own' Regiment on board the barque Heversham, cannot leave, on the conclusion of their voyage from New Plymouth to Adelaide, without sincerely thanking Captain Sherlock and his officers for the very great kindneßS and attention which they have received during the passage, and for the very liberal manner in which they hare been treated throughout ; and take this opportunity of wishing him and them every success for thejfutuie.— S. Hamley, Lieut.-Colonel 50th Regiment, commanding detachment ; A. Tyler, Captain 50th Regiment ; M. A. Clarke, Captain 50fch Regiment ; Gr.W. Turner, Lieutenant 50th Regiment j W. L. Fleury, Lieutenant 50th Quean's Own Regiment ; John J. C. Allardice, Lieutenant ; J. E. D. Tauntoo, Ensign ; W. H. The following is Captain Sherlock's reply ;to the testimonial : — " Captain Sherlock begs to assure LieutenantColonel Hamley, and the officers of the 50th Queen's Own who signed the above testimonial, that the voyage from New Zealand will ever be numbered as a pleasant spot in his existence ; and, if in performing his duty he has merited their esteem, his mission ia "fulfilled.— Port Adlaide, August 9, 1867."
