THE KARAKA GOLDFIELD.
(I I I ' I? the weather had, been anything like propitiotH yesterday, the beaoh at Kauaeranga would, no doubt* by this time have been crowded with diggers, taking ont their miners' rights,' and starting for the rivulets, that have become so famous within the last few days. The goldfield is now in everyone's month, nob only in Auokland, but in the surrounding town* ships. Yesterday, in the pouring rain, men might; he seen examining the bright shovels that were piled temptingly at the ahop doors, and making hurried preparations to be off. But the elements were de* termined that not only should no one get from Auckland to the Karaka, but that there should be no ar« (rival from there. Thep..s. « Enterprise No. 2/whicb, 'was to have conveyed Mr. Ma.ckay and about two hundred passengers, was again delayed till this 'morning. Owing to the delay, the steamer 'Tauranga* .■will not go to the Firth of Thames, but proceed direofc |to her usual destination, None of the other vessels ihave sailed.
