The cattle were of very good quality. At ftemuera. on Thursday,* large number of dairy cows brought from £10 to £1210s. each. The cattle ex Star of the South' sold in one lot previous to the auction, at ±.18 each: consequently the market wai seemingly in short supply, but buyers were full, and last week'* rates were barely sustained. ■> x » * Grown tteers. in good condition, brought in penifrom *«&&?£& watwell supplied. MESSES. W. HUNTKB AND CO., have to report that (on Saturday last there were over 60 hones brought forward, the greyer number being sold at former prices. Some heaTy draught horses fetched from £8 to £15 each At the Newmarket sale on Monday, there was a large number of cattle brought forward, principally store stock. Of dairy cows there were but few in of good quality or near calving, but those fought forward fetched from £10 to £13 each. Backward springers fetched from £7 to £9 each. Store cattle : There was a large supply of stores ; three-year-old steers fetched about £6 10s each.not being of good quality. Some yearling calves fetched about £3 each. A lot of store ows from Napier fetched from £4 10s. to £5 10s l each.
