NEW STEAMER FOR SALE. npHE undersigned have for SALE, to arrive, a A first-class TWIN-SCREW STEAMER, built on the Clyde, and launched in March last. Eoonomy in fuel and working expenses has been carefully studied in her construction, combined with good seagoing properties, speed, and light draft of water. She can enter nearly every river in New Zealand. The following are her dimensions : — Length of keel and forerake, 110 feet Breadth of beam, 20 feet Deptli moulded, 6 feet 9 inches. She has two pairs direct inverted noncondensing cylinder engines of 15-h.p. each, and two propellers which can be worked separately and either reversed at pleasure, by which she can be tnrned in her own length, a matter of such importance in entering bar harbours. The workmanship and fittings are all of the best. The following is her displacement :— On 4 feet draft will carry -55 tons dead weight On 4-6 ■ „ „ 80 ,, „ On 5 „ „ 106 „ „ On 5-6 „ . „ 134 „ „ On 6 „ „ 163 „ „ She carries a steam winch and boiler on deck ; has large hatches for purposes of lighting j is fitted with towing stanchions, and supplied with a rubbing piece -or fender of wood 80 to 90 feet long.
