CHEAP FLOUR MILLS.
To the Editor of the Daily Southern Cross. Sm, —la reference to your Alexandra correspondent *[K," on gri»c mills and cheap flour, allow me to suggest that a steel mill, or several mills, could be worked by one horse at a very small expense, and the anme would grind quite sufficient wheat daily for any amall or moderatesized community, and thus render their flour much cheaper, and also encourage the growth of small plots of wheat, which would be so very desirable. Ic doubtless is the want of a simple means of grinding which now prevents many of our small holders from growing acres, or even half-acres, of wheat. It should be borne in mind that, with proper care, a half-acre of wheat would provide a family with bread for the year.—I am, fto., J. Crisps. Auokland, July 18,1867.
