December Customs returns show a great falling off in imports. Hongkong and Shanghai Bank dividend declared 12 per cent. Colonel Ord, tho new Governor of Singapore, passed G-alle, en route, on the Bth March. Imports, quiet. 'Freights: Canton to London, £2 ; to New York, 12 dollars ; rice charters at Hongkong, £3 ; Shanghai to London, £2. Exchange : Bank bills, 4s sd.
