Hides : Australian, small sales at slight decrease. Leather, steady; there is a demand for Australian at full prices. Sheepskins are a shade lower, but the bulk have been disposed of at fair prices. Horns : Active Bales at 2s to 3s advance— all disposed of. Bones in demand at full rates. Bark: Mimosa, is freely disposed of at late rates. Whalebone is steady. Davis Straits, £490 ; Southern, £390 ; Finners, £490 per ton. Tallow ; No buyers, except for actual wants. P. V.C, on the spot, 42a 8d ; good Australian beef, 41s 3d to 42s 6d. Delivery, since June 1, 73,324 casks against 84,267 casks in the corresponding period of last year. Oils, 6d per cwt. lower; small sales on the spot, 35s 9d. Rape cheaper; English brown, 365; foreign, 383; olive, dearer and Bcarce ; Ceylon fine cocoanut, £50 ; Cochin, £58. Several parcels of Sydney have been taken at £47 ; cod, £42 ; sperm in demand, double compass sold at £45. Metals : Copper is slightly lower. Burra £85 per ton ; Wallaroo, on the spot, £85 cash. Spirits : Hum is firm ; brandies command better prices. There is little business doing in wines. The sugar market is dull, and 6d lower for ordinary and middling qualities. The new reduced duties commenced on the Ist March. The stock is 12,000 tons less than last year. The rice market is firmer, and 4£d higher than last month. Coffee dearer, in requisition: In the corn market former prices are maintained for all good kinds. There have been extensive arrivals of foreign wheat, but the markets are dull.
