The steamship Teiona, formerly the Uncle Sam, carrying the Panama mails between San Francisco and Valparaiso has been purchased from the Spanish Admiral by J. Brander, Esq., of Tahiti, and despatched to Sydney with a cargo of cotton. The Auckland cutter Rusg, late Will Watch, has been sold by Captain Haymet to the Tahitian Government for the island trade. The French barque Tampico, formerly running the mail between Valporaiso nnd Tahiti, has sailed from Tahiti to the Easter Islands. . The Auckland schooner Zillab, Captain Wyatt, was daily expected at Tahiti when the Surprise left for Auckland. She had made a trip to the Kingsmill group, to the north-west of Tahiti, on account of a Tabitian firm. Monthly mail communication with San Francisco has been established at Tahiti, and there were some 200 tons of coal lying at the wharf when the Surprise left. The mission schooner John Williams was daily expected at the island from Sydney. The Kusi. — The Auckland cutter Kusg, late Will Watch, has been sold by Captain Haymet to the Tahitian Government. Captain Haymet returned to Auckland on Saturday, in the brigantine Surprise. The outter Orpheui, D. Stuart, master, arrived on Saturday from Wangarei and the Bay of Islands, with a cargo of kauri gum and settlers' produce.
