MOUNT ALBERT WESLEYAN CHAPEL.
A public tea meeting and soir€e took place last evening at the Mount Albert chapel, and was very numerously attended by visitors from Auckland and. frienda resident in the viciuifcy — two tables having to be laid to accommodate the large number of persons present. Messrs. Quick and Co. ran two omnibuses from Auckland, for the convenience of visitors from the city. The chapel was very handsomely deoorated for the occasion, with ferns,, evergreens, and floral deyic.es. The trays were gratuitously provided by ladies connected with the congregation, and a very excellent tea, with the necessary accompany ments, was heartily partaken of. The tea equipage having been removed, The Rev. J. Buller took the chair. He congratulated the worshippers resident at Mouit Albert upon having so successfully effected their object, in erecting such a handsome edifice for the worship of God ; and having been able to reduce their liabilities to a very small amount. Mr. Clark read the report and balance-sheet, which were of a most satisfactory oharaoter. Addresses were subsequently delivered by the Rev. Isaac Harding. Rev. Mr. Gittos, Rev, Mr. Whitely, Rev. Mr. Reed, Rev, Mr. Smith, and Rev, W. Watkin. The proceedings of the eveniog were most agreeably enlivened by the admirable performance, by the ohoir in attendance, of several seleoted pieces of musio— amongst which, we may mention : "Eternal Mansions," "Awake, Awake." Votes of thanks were afterwards carried with acclamation to the ladies who had provided the tea, and to the choir, after which the meeting was brought to a close on the benediction being pronounced by the chairman.
