SAN FRANCISCO.

The following is the latest trade circular from San Francisco : — August 9. Sinoe we addressed you, on the 23th nit,, a good deal of grain has come to market, but the demand for export has been large, and the farmers skill complain of the difficulty of getting labourers to enable them to harvest their gram. Wheat has been sold at Idol, 55c. to Idol. 52^0. j a few small parcels at Idol. 50c. Our distillers are buyers of all the worst samples of smutty wheat at Idol. 30c. Barley. — The receipts have been only trifling, most of the farmers preferring to feed their grain to hogs rather than accept the ruling prices. We quote good brewing at 950., and feed at 80c. to 85c. Oats are worth Idol. 40c. to Idol. 50c , bub we have not yet seen auy really good shipping oats of the new crop. Flour. — We quote superfine 4dol. 87£ c. per barrel in half-sacks, "sdol. quarter sacks ; extra sdol. 12.Jc. in half-sacks, sJol. 25c. quarter-sacks. The exports since the 28ih July have been :— July 29, ' Da Capo,' for Manila, with 3,200 ban els flour. July 31, 'Japan,' for Hongkong, with 4 615 sacks wheat, 950 barrels flour. August 1, 'Hednig,' for Liverpool, with 10,341 sacks wheat. August] 9, • JSewsboy,' for Shanghae, with 4,060 sacks wheat, 1,000 barrels flour. August 9, ' Asa Eldridge,' for Manila, with 2,000 barrels flour. August 10, ' Marinion,' for Liverpool, with 22,740 sacks wheat. August 10, ' Woosung,' for Liverpool, with 20,245 sacks wheat. The vessels now loading are the 'Cowper,' 'Arauoo,' 'Explorer,' 'S. G. Glover, ' 'Favorita,' • Alice Kitson,' ' Clifford,' and ' Alpine,' wheat, for England ; ' Louis Kuifller,' wheat and flour, for Hongkong j * f*iam' and 'Osboine,' wheat and flour, for Sydney ; 'Kate,' wheat and flour, for Auckland. Charters.— American ship 'S. G. Glover,' 761, wheat to Liverpool, £2 15s ; British barque ' Alice Eitson,' 537, wheat to Sunderland, £2 15-. ; ' Annie Sharp,' 600, copper ore to Swansea, £3 7s. 6d. ; • Oaliorne,' 327, wheat and flour to Sydney, £2, if to Melbourne £2 10s.; Bremen barque 'Siam,'3s4, Sydney, £2, if to Melbourne £2 10s Coal. — Wallsend is worth about 9dol. 50c. to 9dol^ 75c, per ton. Exchange on London, 60 days, 49£ d. to 49Jd. Falkner, Bell, and Co. The following is the circular of the same firm issued on the 28th July, ten days subsequent to our latest dite«, by the ' L>ay Dawu,' via Sydney :—: — Since the ISfch hißtant, the date of our last circular, the business dove in grain has been but moderate, and receipts have continued light. The farmers are still busy harvesting, and the bcarcity of field hands occasions considerable delay in many parts of the State. Wheat. — There is a good demand for export. Choioe shipping qualities command Idol. 55c. ; inferior grades are selling at Idol. 500. to Idol. 52|c.

Barley. — The receipts of new are extremely light, aud prices are a shade firmer. We quote choice brewing at 90c, and feed at 80c. to 85c.

Oats. — The market is entirely bate. The new crop will open at about Idol. 40c. The quality of this season's yield is supmior.

Flour. — We quote superfine at 4dol. 87^c. per barrel in half -sacks ; superfine, in quarter-sacks, 5d01. ; extra, in half sacks, sdol. 124 c ; extra, ia quarter sacks, sdol. 37 ic. The exports siuce the 1 8th have been: July 18, T>ay Dawn, 'for Sydney, with 3, l6osacks wheat, 1,018 sacks barley, 1,099 sacks oats, 2,000 barrels flour. July 19, 'Tuisco,' for Sydney, with 11,472 sacks wheat. July 21, 'Prinaa Donna,' for New York, with 1,577 sacks barley, 250 barrels flour. July 21, c M*thilde,' for Hongkong, with 2,424 sacks wheat, 675 barrels flour. July 24, ' Windward,' for Hongkong, with 5,441 sacks wheat, 4,274 barrels Hour. July 24, ' Cormorant,' for Liverpool, with 33,362 sacks wheat. July 28, 'Teutonia,' for Queenstown, with 28, 518 sacks wheat.

Chartebs. — American ship 'Favorita,' 1,232, wheab to Liverpool, £3; British ship 'Imperial,' 1,015, to bring ice from Russian America, 11,500d01. ; British brig 'Newsboy,' 309, wheat and flour to Shanghae, 2,000d01., gold ; Hamburg brig 'Carl,' 199, Hongkong, 1,500d01., gold; Prussian barque 'Louis Kniffler,' 472, Hougkoug and back, 7,500d01., gold, if ordered to Manila l.OOOdol. in addition; British baique 'Jeddo,' 327, lumber from Burrard's inlet to Port Adelaide, South Australia, £5 per M. 'ihe charter of the x raerican ship 'S. G. Glover,' wheat to Liverpool, at £3, has been cancelled, and the ship is undergoing repairs.
