GRASS.

To the Editor of the Dailt Southern Cboss. Sir, — Can any of your readers favour me with the name of the grass growing so luxuriantly at Port Waikato, in the mission paddocks and on the surrounding lauds ? Also, whether it can be ploughed out of laud on which it has once taken root ? it is a coarse grass resembling small toitoi, and its seed-stalk is like a rat's tail. I have heard it called prairie t-rass, tussock yrass of the Middle Island, &c. Whatever is its name, it appears to possess superior powers of overcoming the natural herbage to that of any other grass. — I am, &c, Jonas Fbrnland, llaglan, September 29, 1866.
