Auckland, this day, at 6 p.m. For the United Kingdom, tU Panama, alio for the Britiih American colonies, the United States, the Weit Indies, and other countries of North and South America, the mails for convejance per s.s. Bakaia, from Wellington, will close at the Chief Post Office in Auckland, on Monday morning, 3rd of September, at 9 o'clock, excepting as to money order and registered letter mails, which will ba closed this day, at 5 p.m. For Taranaki and the Southern Prorinces, p«r s.s. Queen, the money order and registered letter mails will close this day, at 6 p.m., and the mails for ordinary letters and newspapers on Monday morning, at 0 o'clock. W. CORBETT. Chief Postmaster.
