RUMOURED DEATH OF WILLIAM THOMPSON.
A ekport reached ut last evening that the chief William Thompson was dead. The information wm brought to Auckland by a gentleman from Waikato, who received the news through native sources. We may state that on making inquiries from the natives in town we found that; they had nut heard of the event. We feel inclined to put greater reliance on the tidings from the fact thatThompion hat lately b«#n in very precarious health.
