AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKET. [Reports for the week ending July 27.]
me. bdckland's report. At the Havmarket, on Saturday last, hay was in moderate supply, and without variation in price, best quality selling at £5 the ton. Maize, dull of (ale. from ss. 9d. to 6s 6d.; oats, ss. 3d. and ss. 6d. the bush«l;/\Vangamu beef, 3.Jd. to 4d. per lb. Horse stock were in limited numbers, and met with little demand, good draught bringing from £1410s. to £2310 i. each. Hacks at nominal prices. At the Triangle, on Tuesday, there was a good muster of store cattle, principally heifers and young stock. The prices realised showed an improvement on those obtained during the past fortnight, with the exception of dairy cows, which were rather lower in. price. At Newmarket, on Thursday, itore cattle barely maintained Tuwday'i rates. Dairy cows were plentiful, and those fa pro*

AYe have to report that, at our yards at Newmarket, on Monday, we had a good show of fat cattle, but not of firstrate quality , the prices have Improved on last week's quotations fully 30s a head "We hud a large market of store cattle, but mostly in low condition , prices were considerably down for this class of stock. Working bullocks sold very high in pi ice. Dairy cows are selling high, but the market wai badly supplied with good qualities. Store cows are down in price. Sheep market . We had a good market of fat sheep ; the half-breds from Wanganui brought from 295. to 39s each ; piovincial-fattened merino wethers brought from 255. to 27s 9d. each. Pigs were lower in price than they have been for some time pa*t Otahuhu Sale —There was a fair supply of store cattle and dairy cows at this market, and prices ■were about the same as at Newmarket. A lot of store sheep brought 19s. each. Horse Sale.— At the Durham-street sale yards, on Saturday last, we had a fair supply of horses ; good hacks brought from £20 to £25, but most in the market were of an inferjor description. Maize, os. and Cs. 3d. per bushel ; seed oats, Gs. Gd. and 7s. per bushel : feed oats, 5s 9d. and Cs per bushel ; hay, £4 10s. and £5 p»r ton.
