MISCELLANEOUS.
The p.s. Prince Alfred, Captain Farquhar arrived yesterday afternoon from fort' Waikato with a general cargo. The s.s. Airedale, Captain Meilclehnm, may be looked for on Sunday from Taranaki and South. The s.s. Storm Biri, Captain Gleadou, is also due here on Monday from Taranaki, Wanganui, and Wellington. The a s. Queen passed a small ochooner crossing her bow when *he came in, supposed to be the Emma Jane, from Hokitika. Two beacons are in course of being constructed at the entrance of the Manukau harbour, near the North Head, for the purpose of enabling mariners to steer clear of the North Head Spit, and the Emma and 'I ramway Shoals. These beacons are being put up under the direction of Capt. Wing harbour-master, and will be of gre it service to vessels in that part of the channel, and more particularly if any of the buoys should be carried rtway, or taken up for the purpose of being repaired.
