COMPENSATION COURT.

NOTICE is hereby given that a sitting of the Compensation Court, will be holden at Opotiki on MONDAY, the first day of October, aud following days, for the purpose of hearing and determining the jclaims of persons to compensation on account of the taking, under the authority of the New Zealand Settlements Act, 1863, of the Blocks of Land in the district of J3ay of Plenty, and hereunder described 1 :— BAY OF PLENTY DISTRICT. All that land bounded by a live commencing at the mouth of the Waitahanui River, Bay of Plenty, and running due south to the Tarawera River ; thence by a straight line to the summit of Putauaki (Mount Edgecombe) ; thence by a straight line in au easteily direction to the confluence of the rivers Tauwhare and ' Ohiwa ; thence by aline running due east for 25 miles ; thence by a line to the mouth of the Aparapara River, in the Bay of; Plenty. AT a MEETING of the Friends of the late Mr. James Fulloon held This Day, at Te Papa, Tauranga, Capt. Fraser in the chair, it was resolved — That Mr. Simpkins having communicated to this Meeting that the Ancient Order of Freemasons had, through the Worshipful Master of St. -Andrew's Lodge, Auckland, of which the late Mr. Fulloon was a member, intimated their intention to defray the whole cost of his interment, &c , the grateful thanks of this meeting are due to that fraternity, and also to that portion of the public who have so liberally subscribed for the object in contemplation, but whose subscriptions will not now be called for in consequence of the action taken by the honourable Order referred to. -That the public be informed that the reason the fellow victims of Mr. FuLLOon, Messrs. Robinson, Tringle, and a person, name unknown, were not included in, the former notice, was simply because their bodies are not recoverable ; and such being the case a suitable inscription, commemorating the tintimely fate of all who fell at the catastrophe of the ' Kate,' was intended.
