PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT GAZETTE.

"We were placed in receipt, last evening, of a Provincial Government Gazette, published on Saturday last, and which contains notices ef the sale of Government town lands at Tauranga on the 28th August ; and general country lands in the counties of Hokinuga, Mongonui, Marsden, and Eden, on the 4th September. Samuel Bradley is appointed keeper of the public slaughter-house, at Panmure, known as Walters's slaughter-house; and Henry falls and Robert Clifford being lessees of land in the parish of Parahaki, such lands being selected by them as credit land under the Auckland Waste Lands Act, 1853, having failed to fulfil the conditions prescribed by law in regard to such lands, notice is given that the right and interest of the said lessees in such lands have become forfeited. Notices are also given of claims being made to runs at Karioi, Mongonui, and Matamata ; of proof of debts to be made in intestate estates on or before the 15th October next; and copy of writ in the case John Williamson v. the Royal Insurance Company. . Sittings of the Native Land Court will be held at Mongonui on the 31st August ; at Waipuna, Wangaron, on the 7th September ; at Turanganui, Turanga, on the 12th September ; and at Waiapu, East Cape, on the 26th September. In addition to those already gazetted, the undermentioned gentlemen have received licenses to survey lands, under the Native Lands Act, 1865 :— N. P. Carver, Esq. ; Edward Holroyd .Beere, Esq. The remainder of the Gazette is occupied with an abstiact of the revenue and expenditure of the province of Auckland during the quarter ended the 31st March, 1866, i iom which it appears that the general revenue amounted to £30,947 1&. 3d., which added to Bank of New Zealand advances, £47,124, and balance the 31st December, 1865, made up a total of £78,131 12-J. 9d. The expenditure had been £75,200 16s 2d., thus leaving a balance on the 31st March of £2,930 16s. 7d. Luring the quarter the following amounts were paid without vote : — New Zealand Government, £268 ss. 7d.; Kawakawa coalfield, £10611s. 6d.; rifle range, £101 18s.; Bay of Islands settlement, £35 7s. 2d.; refund, £50.
