GOVERNMENT LAND SALE.
A sale of town lands, situate at the township of Mercer, Point Russell, "on the Waikato Rirer, was held at the Land Office yesterday. There was some brisk bidding for the lots offered, and ver^ latisfactory prices were realised. The upset price was £12 10s. per rood. The following is the result of the sale :— Section 1 : Lot 1, lr., sold for £250, W. J. Young ; lot 2, lr., £40, Schafer ; lot 5, lr., £22, Schafer; 10t6,1r., £25, Schifer; lot 7, lr., £41, Walters ; lot 8, lr., £45, Walters; lot 9, lr., £40, W. J. Hurst. Section 2: Lot 1, lr., £36, Schufer; lofc 2, lr, £22, T. S. Grace; lot 5, lr., £13, T. S. Grace; lot 6, lr., £14, T. S. Grace. Section 3: Lot 4, lr., £74, Hauramaki; lot 5, lr., £86, Home; lot 6, lr., £75, Simpson; lot 8 lr., £30, Messiar ; lot 9, lr., £28, Abraham ; lot 11, lr., £20, Workman ; lot 12, lr., £18, T. Jack* son ; lot 13, lr., £13, J. De Hirsch ; lot 14, lr., £16, T. Adair. Section 4: Lot 1, lr., upset price, T. S. Grace ; lot 2, lr., upset price, T. S. Grace.
